Foster Update: Tilly is incredibly smart and picks up on things very quickly. She has a lot of energy and will need to continue obedience training and definitely needs more leash training. She likes to pull, but can be easily distracted if you carry treats with you. She knows "find it" and "leave it" (although sometimes chooses to ignore), she'll wait patiently for permission to eat her meals and she'll go in her crate (if you flash a treat of some sort). She's very food motivated, but she also loves affection and responds well to pats and verbal praise.

Tilly's absolute favorite place is dog beach and playing fetch is her all time favorite thing. She is definitely a water dog! She responds to her name and comes right away when you call her which has been great. She's good at the dog park too. She has a lot of energy and she really loves to run. She seems fine with other dogs, but is mostly indifferent to them and doesn't react to them on walks. She really just prefers to play with a ball instead of socializing. She'll smell around and engage in play here and there but she's pretty independent.

When she's sleepy, she is incredibly cute and such a cuddle bug. She absolutely loves hanging out with you on the couch and loves being held. She's also very velcro and craves your attention. She'll entertain herself for a bit, but she's sneaky and will grab something she shouldn't just to get your attention. She'll sleep in the crate, but definitely prefers sleeping in the bed with you.

Tilly came to Lab Rescuers with a confirmed diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD), which caused loose stools. This can almost always be controlled by finding the correct diet. Food containing beef or chicken do not agree with her. She is now thriving on a limited ingredient goat meat diet that can be purchased on Chewy.com. Her stools now appear normal, with no accidents in the house. She will always require a special diet, but is very healthy otherwise.

Intro: Tilly is a petite gal at only 32lbs — a true pocket lab! She is an absolute beauty, with gorgeous soulful eyes. Tilly is super sweet, affectionate, and just a little bit reserved when meeting new people (but she warms up quickly when offered a few treats). Like most labs, Tilly loves her food and treats, but takes treats incredibly politely and gently. Tilly is said to be crate-trained and potty-trained, and she loves to cuddle, to play fetch, and to run around at the beach. Tilly is a dream companion in the car, as she just curls up on the floor of the passenger seat and pops her head up every so often to see what was going on and to give kisses. Tilly’s previous owners loved and cared for her, but due to a change in family situation and due to some of her medical issues, they just could not keep her. LR is looking into her medical issues, and we will provide updates on sweet Tilly as we learn more about her.
