Update on Jake April 26
Jake has been in a training program and has made lots of progress and is doing very well. He is ready for his forever family.
Jake is super sweet with a typical Lab personality. He's had a good time learning how to play and interact with other dogs. His newly discovered play bow to initiate play with other dogs is very cute.
Jake gets along with large dogs and will be fine in a home with another dog. Though meeting prior is always essential to determine if the dogs are a good fit together.
If Jake is the one for you; to keep and continue the progress, he's made a session with the trainer who’s been working with him. It is important as well to following consistently the basic training guidelines
that she will pass on.
Jake is a fun, active, playful dog that likes to please and be with his people. He walks well on the leash with the right collar. Jake's previous owner has told LR he is good with children.
He's very food motivated and will do anything for a treat. Jake can be fence reactive to dogs or strangers on the other side but has been trained to come right away when called with a treat. He may counter surf
if given the opportunity but corrects well.
Dog parks are not recommended - Jake has been reactive to small dogs and occasionally may hump a dog he doesn't know. And no cats for Jake.
If you think this sweet boy may be the one, please let your LR rep know.
Jake is a sweet active boy. His DOB 9/11/15. His family could not look after him anymore and are trusting LR to help him find his perfect forever home.
His family told us he is house trained. He goes to the groomer every month and is always a good boy there. He sleeps with his humans or next to them on floor. He is not good with cats. He knows his basic commands. He is out of practice on leash and will pull you. He would benefit from daily long walks. Twice a day walks is what he needs.
I met Jake at a dog park. He met my boy Rocco and was happy to take a walk with him. He does not like over sniffing and will make that known. We walked by many dogs on leash and he was nonreactive towards them. He shared smells nose to nose with Rocco with out any issues. He is under socialized with new dogs. We think it is best for him to stay with our trainer for a week to focus on his social skills to set him up for success.
Unknown if he is water boy or not. He has not had the opportunity to explore a pool or the beach. He will play fetch sometimes. He enjoys affection. He is good in a car. He has all his AKC Pedigree paperwork. He is hunky Chocolate boy.
