Foster Update: Murphy is a wagging happy boy and gets along great with his foster sister Spirit. He isn't interested in her rough play but follows her around in the yard and at dog park. He knows the time of day we go to dog park and gets very excited when the leashes come out. He doesn't enjoy his bath but afterwards he looks beautiful with a black shine to his coat. He was picked up as a stray in the desert but his coat is good and he looks well fed. Murphy loves his walks, he is strong on the leash but is slowly improving. He seems to look to Spirit for guidance for behavior at dog park and leash walking as he follows her around. He is mellow when at home and loves the shade in the yard. He is confident at dog park with dogs and humans, going up to strangers for pets. He is currently being treated for an ear infection but seems otherwise healthy. He is a cuddle bug and bonds to his people. He would also love to have a dog buddy in his forever home.
Intro: Murphy was found stray up in the desert and waited for his family to come for him, but LR came instead. Strange because he’s a sweet boy. He leaned up against our volunteer and soaked up the attention, but then was so excited to be outside, he sniffed around every bush in sight. He’s strong and will need leash training. Murphy rode really well for the ride south, had no interest in treats, just the sights. First impression is he’ll make a great family companion after vetting, foster time, and some basic training. Stay tuned for updates as we get to know him.
