Meet Rainbow. Rainbow is brand new to Labrador Rescuers. Here's what we know about this stellar Chocolate Lab. He has lived outside all his 3.5 years. He does great with other dogs. He absolutely loves human companionship (he literally leans in to you) and looks up at you while being petted with his beautiful gold eyes. For Rainbow's Valentine gift, he was rescued by Labrador Rescuers and landed in an awesome foster home. Keep checking back for updates...

Foster update 2.17.2021

"Bo" is currently being fostered with two senior dogs (10 & 11) and two kids (5 & 7)

Who is this Bo?

He is an absolute 100 lb cuddle bug.  He closes his eyes and takes in every rub/head scratch he gets. It just melts my heart how much he responds to it.

The world makes him nervous and excited at the same time.  He runs away when he sees the leash, but we will keep exposing him to positive experiences. He is a big strong boy (103lbs) with not too many leash manners, so we are working on that too. He has been quite winded on 1 mile walks, so we are going to help build up his endurance.

We were told he wasn't house trained, but he also hasn't had any accidents in the house.  He figured out the dog door in the first 24 hours of his arrival. So great news there.

As of right now, he does not chase or catch anything.  So he's not the ball chasing lab. He's really an old soul in a young body or is more of a companion than a playmate. With that being said, he is trying to engage one of my dogs to play, but my dogs don't ever warm up in the first few days. So time will tell how much of a playmate he will become.

He is not confrontational at all.  If my golden puts his head on Bo's back, Bo just ignores and walks away.

Bo doesn't give kisses.

He snores like a freight train.

He doesn't jump on people.

Bo is a complete road block in the house.  He doesn't know where to go and what to do.  So we are learning to maneuver a 100lb tripping hazard!

The last thing I will say about Bo is he has one of those calming energies about him.  He has so much love to give and receive. Bo needs some time to adjust to home life before he will be ready for adoption.

We will update more as he continues to come out of his shell!
