Foster Update: Bradley is a very affectionate boy and still acts like a puppy. He is wildly excited each morning when he wakes up and sees us. He keeps all his toys with him on his bed, is house broken, takes treats gently, and sleeps quietly through the night. He likes to play tug of war and would like to play with the grumpy old cat. He loves laps, hugs and belly rubs. He does well at the dog park with both dogs and people. However on a leash he is afraid of new faces and will lunge and bark. He is also afraid of cars and bicyclists that go by. He will be meeting with a trainer next week to work on his social skills. Bradley is very smart and will catch on fast. He would like to be in a home with another dog to play with. He likes cats but all cats may not like him. Bradley is not aggressive he just lacks social skills.
Bradley was found as a stray injured. He has since healed from his injuries. He was originally with a rescuer in Mexicali and fostered with a few dogs. What we saw in the videos before we met him is that he enjoys a good game of tug a war and keep away. He is friendly to dogs of all sizes. We tested him with small and large dogs and he was social and happy. We also tested him with cats. One cat kept trying to take his treats and he was non-reactive. Bradley is food motivated but not food aggressive. That will make him easy to train. Strangers make him nervous. You give him a couple of treats and a scratch on his chest and he is your buddy. After a few treats he went on a walk with me and played tug a war with his leash. He also climbed in my lap for some pets. Bradley is a Pocket Lab. If you’re looking for medium size Boy he may be the guy for you. Please check back with us as Bradley settles in and look for updates.
